What is Swapster?
Swapster™ is a barter system that lets you Trade CDs, DVDs, Video Games and Books for Swapster Points. You can use the points you earn to buy items from other members on Swapster.
Swapster Points have a value of $1.00. Free market rules apply; you determine how many points you want to charge for your items.
What can I trade on Swapster?
Members trade CDs, DVDs, Video Games and Books. Of course, you can trade other formats such as vinyl records, VHS tapes, etc. You must specify the format of the item you are trading when you create your ad.
How do I create an ad?
Once you are signed in, go to List Items, select the category and follow the instructions. We've made it easy to create very slick, detailed ads.
It's FREE to create an ad and only takes about a minute. Listing many items in one sitting is strongly encouraged and will increase your trading potential.
How do I buy items listed on Swapster?
Swapster Points are used to buy items listed on Swapster. When you browse to an item you want click on the green "Get It Now" button. As long as you have enough points, you're just a click away.
How much does it cost?
Swapster is completely free during our beta phase.
How do I get Free Swapster Points?
You get 5 Swapster Points when you list your first 5 items!
When you 'share' any listed items on your Facebook account (or any social website) you will earn 5 Swapster Points for members that click on those links and subsequently join Swapster.
Is Swapster Safe?
Swapster provides a safe trading environment. No cash changes hands between members and Swapster guarantees all transactions to the extent that we will refund all Swapster Points to the buyer in a deal gone bad.
Swapster has a feedback system so users can gague the reputaion of other members.
You can use your Profile to create a group of friends to trade with.
We also notify members of their trade activity via email, social widgets and optional SMS Text Messages. This ensures that members are made aware when they need to ship an item.
Lastly, members can set their account to "Away mode" to prevent others from purchasing their items when they are not actively using the site.
Is Swapster Secure?
Swapster uses all best practice security measures. Sensitive data is encrypted during transmission and any stored information is encrypted before it is stored.
